Introduction
Octro Sweep Card Game – Seep
Step into the world of Seep (also known as Sweep, Shiv, or Siv) — a classic and beloved Indian tash card game enjoyed by players across India, Pakistan, and several other Asian countries. This traditional game combines skill, strategy, and a touch of luck, making it a favorite pastime for generations.
Seep can be played by two players or in teams of two when playing with four participants. In the four-player format, partners sit opposite each other, working together to outscore their opponents.
Objective of the Game
The aim is simple yet strategic: capture valuable cards from the table layout (known as the floor). The game continues until one team gains a lead of at least 100 points over the other — a winning milestone called a baazi. Before starting, players can also agree on a set number of games to be played.
Card Values & Scoring
Points are earned only from specific cards:
Spade Suit – Every card has a capture value from King (13 points) down to Ace (1 point).
Other Suits – Only the Ace of each suit is worth 1 point.
10 of Diamonds – Worth 6 points.
All other cards have no point value — only 17 cards in the deck contribute to the score. In total, the deck holds 100 points.
Special Bonus – The Seep
A Seep occurs when a player captures all the cards from the floor in one turn, leaving the table empty.
Standard Seep: 50 points.
First-turn Seep: 25 points.
Last-turn Seep: 0 points (no bonus).
A Game with Global Cousins
Seep shares similarities with the Italian card games Scopone and Scopa, making it part of a broader family of capture-style card games played worldwide.
